CCAR Compressor Chillers
The CCAR Series of Compressor Chillers utilizes refrigerant 410A and includes models ranging in capacity from 15 to 75 tons to meet a wide range of comfort cooling and process load conditions. Each model is designed for quiet, reliable, high efficiency operation and built to withstand demanding continuous duty cycles.
At the heart of the Trane CCAR product line are the highly efficient scroll compressor and brazed plate evaporator, and state-of-the-art electronic expansion valve for precise refrigerant distribution.
The integral digital controller continually optimizes unit operation, undertakes fault avoidance strategy during abnormal operating conditions, and displays operational and diagnostic information at the unit and at a remote location if needed.
The 40 through 75 ton models have dual refrigerant circuits to eliminate 100% capacity loss in the event of a compressor failure.

The CCAR Series of Compressor Chillers includes models ranging in capacity from 15 to 75 tons to meet a wide range of load conditions. Each model is designed for quiet, reliable, high efficiency operation and built to withstand demanding continuous duty cycles.
At the heart of the NAPPS CCAR product line are the highly efficient scroll compressor and brazed plate evaporator and state-of-the-art expansion valve for precise refrigerant distribution.
The integral digital controller continually optimizes unit operation, undertakes fault avoidance strategy during abnormal operating conditions and displays operational and diagnostic information at the unit and at a remote location if needed.
CCAR products combine high efficiency Scroll Compressors and Brazed Plate evaporators to offer full and part load efficiencies that are unmatched when compared to products utilizing reciprocating compressors. Still higher efficiencies are realized at part load conditions.
Since its introduction, Scroll Compressors have proven to be one of the most reliable compressors available. While high reliability is inherent with the scroll technology, digital control technology has proven to increase reliability and minimize downtime through sophisticated operational logic, fault avoidance strategy and the ability to stably control peripherals such as condenser damper actuators and fan VFDs.
The 40 through 70 ton models have dual refrigerant circuits to eliminate 100% capacity loss in the event of a compressor failure.
All CCAR products are assembled on a rugged steel frame with integral lifting provisions and painted with a topcoat of durable urethane enamel.
The powerful CCAR Digital Controller provides complete chiller control and standard interface to BACnet IP and Modbus BMS controls. LonTalk, BACnet MS/TP or Johnson N2 interface is optional. Door mounted display and local PC Ethernet connection provides easy access to set points and diagnostic display.
All CCAR Control Panels are complete with fused control power transformer, safety and operational control components and digital controller boards. Digital controller display/input screen is located in the front door of control panel.
All CCAR products are backed by the NAPPS Standard One Year Limited Warranty. Optional 5 year compressor warranty is also available. Replacement compressors are available nation-wide.
Factory installed options for CCAR products include non-fused disconnects, full sound attenuation enclosure, phase monitor, expansion board pack for advanced peripheral control, LonTalk, BACnet MS/TP or Johnson N2 communication and ice building control.
Ship loose options include flow switch and vibration isolator kit.

Factory Installed Options
No communication – Digital Controller configured to operate without Building Management System (BMS) interface. No cost option.
Standard communication – Digital Controller configured to operate with BACnet IP and Modbus BMS protocols. No cost option.
LonTalk communication – Factory installed LonTalk communications board provides LonTalk BMS protocol to NAPPS MCS Digital Controller.
BACnet MS/TP communication – Factory installed BACnet MS/TP communications board provides BACnet MS/TP BMS protocol to NAPPS MCS Digital Controller.
Johnson N2 communication – Factory installed Johnson N2 communications board provides Johnson N2 BMS protocol to NAPPS MCS Digital Controller.
Ice building mode – The NCCR product will be factory configured so that an external contact closure will initiate the Ice Build Mode. When initiated, the units leaving fluid temperature set point will be reset to build ice. Once the set point is satisfied, the unit will go out of Ice Build mode and back into the normal cooling mode with associated cooling mode leaving fluid set point. No cost option.
Digital power monitor – Factory installed digital, programmable power and phase monitor provides an additional level of protection over the base Napps motor protection device.
Non-fused disconnect – Factory installed panel mounted disconnect with through the door operator.
Sound attenuation cabinet – The factory installed sound attenuation cabinet covers the entire compressor compartment, significantly reducing compressor and discharge line noise.
Sound attenuation blankets – The factory installed sound attenuation blanket kit covers each compressor with a custom fitted blanket, economically reducing the compressor noise. Both the cabinet and blankets may be selected if desired.
Extended Compressor warranty – Compressor only, extended warranty for the 2nd through 5th year available only through Napps.
Ship Loose Options
Paddle type flow switch – McDonnell Miller FS354 (or equivalent) paddle-type flow switch shipped loose for field installation. When properly installed and maintained this option satisfies the requirement of a field installed flow proving device.
Neoprene isolator kit – Set of 4 Mason Super “W” 6” x 6” non-seismic pads (or equivalent) shipped loose for field installation
